Be responsible for your energy

I’ve been working on a side project this past week that has really been opening my eyes to the way things work around us. The concept of how I perceive the world and how I interact with it is shifting into a whole new light.

If you are a regular visitor to metaphysical shops or healing spaces, you have likely seen a sign in at least one of them that reads something like this: “Be responsible for the energy you bring into this space.” The concept of this is simple. Don’t drag your crappy day, bad attitude, or aches and pains in here and expect the energy of the store or its owners to take at away from you. You brought it in, take it with you when you leave. To one degree or another, we are all sensitive to energy. Many of us don’t even realize what is happening, but we feel it just the same. How many times have you walked into a room full of people and had your mood suddenly shift? Think back to when you first meet people. That first impression you get, before you are even introduced, is an energetic impression. Your energy fields, or auras, are interacting before you even get a chance to speak. The more we pay attention to our own energy fields and the vibes we are putting out, the better we can understand the vibes we are receiving from others. But this isn’t really news. I’ve talked about this before and the idea of maintaining and doing upkeep on your personal energy space with others is hopefully part of your regular routine by now.

No, what I have been discovering over these past few days is something that is so amazingly obvious and simple, but I never quite made the connection. The energetic relationship that we have with people is the same that we have with our surroundings as well. Our moods can affect the land and structures around us much in the same way that they can affect the people around us. Before I get into that though, let me preface it by saying that what I am finding is that everything around us has energy and spirit. From the land underneath us to the house around us and beyond. Not sure about that? Pay attention next time you walk into a building or out into a park. How does the space feel to you? How does your energy change just by entering it? How does your mood shift? Even if you don’t consider yourself particularly sensitive, I would wager that your mood will be quite different walking into a sterile sparsely decorated office space versus a warm, well lit, and colorful space.

The side project that I have been working on is one dealing specifically with this connection. How our energies interact with the land and structures around us and what can be done to optimize this connection. If you remember back a few months ago, I did a two part series on dowsing. In the second part, I spent time discussing how you can dowse for the specific frequencies and energetic levels of things around you. I have used this method sporadically throughout the past couple years and though I had good success and feedback with it, I was never really feeling a call to develop it any further. However, as I have been on vacation all this week and playing around with all sorts of pet projects, I decided to put this process into a more structured system and see how it worked. The initial results and feedback that I have received have been absolutely amazing to me. I am finding numerous direct correlations between the energy of the land and\or structures and the energy of the occupants or owners.

This connection at first seemed pretty straightforward. In one case, the occupant of the house had been experiencing all sorts of electrical issues including bulbs blowing, appliances shorting out, things turning off and on, etc. This is a pretty new house and no wiring issues could be found. In looking at the land itself, I found that the vibrational frequencies and the energy level was literally off the charts. The frequency was nearly 200 units above the ideal level and the energy was almost three times the ideal. The house seemed to be able to handle this initially as the property owners had never experienced any issues. However, with the current occupant’s energy and vibration were also measuring well over their ideal levels and had been for most of their life. This combination was beginning to short circuit the house itself. Not to difficult to see the connection and the cause and effect here. The land was already overcharged, add in an additional overcharged occupant and they became the catalyst for the electrical systems going nuts. Other instances, however, became much more interesting.

A friend let me look into their home and land energies and in describing the location shared many of her concerns. There seemed to be a flood of varying emotions through the house and at times it seemed as though it was an emotional roller coaster throughout any given day. The house seemed to be attached to her in some way and when she was gone for long periods, there was a heaviness that filled the house upon her return. She had even been told by other intuitives that the house would weep when she was gone. Sound odd? Just wait there’s more. She reported to me that in recent times she has experienced major flooding of the land and multiple old growth trees uprooting in storms despite being apparently healthy trees. In looking at the energies, I was surprised to see that the house itself was not really an issue. Its frequencies were a bit off, but nothing too crazy. The land’s energy and frequencies though, were way low. In this work, I also look into where any emotional shifts are coming from and typically find that they are caused by the owners or spirit entities within the home. In this case however, the land itself was causing this constant wave of emotions. The land that she owned was expressing a sadness and fear that I had never been exposed to. I began to dig deeper into this as I had not experienced a situation where the land was affecting the owner’s emotions in such a way. I thought that maybe a past trauma to the land was trapping some energy there. No luck. Maybe it was a present situation that had the land so worked up. Nothing again. What the heck could be causing this? I opened my self up to all the possibilities and the answers began to flow.

There was a future event that the spirits of the land could sense was coming. This is an event that was to be precipitated by future owners of the home and while the end result would be good for the earth itself, the event would be very hard on the land. What seemed to be making things harder was that the land could see and feel it coming and yet could do nothing about it. It knew that the event must come in order for the highest good to happen, but it sure as heck was not looking forward to it. I found that there is a deep connection that the land had to my friend as well. The light that she brings to the world through her energy work brings comfort to the land. A bond was created and knowing that at some point my friend would have to leave the property, the land was not happy. As I put it to my friend, it is as though you are helping a good friend prepare for a life altering surgery. They know that it will be in the greater good to have it done but they are scared of the procedure. They are also scared because they know that despite all the help you can provide in the preparation, they still must face it alone.

In this case, I advised my friend to do all that she could to help calm the land. Energy work, rituals, communing with the spirits, whatever she felt called to do. But she also must do one other thing. She must work with the spirits of the land to loosen the bond and trust that they will always share a connection, even when she is no longer there. Ease the fear and help the land transition through this event whenever it may occur.

This type of deep energetic bond really got me thinking. What kind of energy do I bring to my home? Am I in harmony with the land and structure, or am I creating an imbalance? We take the energy in our homes for granted at times and often just assume that there is always going to be a balance and comfort level there. When that balance gets out of whack, we feel the shift in our emotions and the energy of the home. There is a need for us to regularly commune with our land and to show it our love and respect. Clean it up, beautify it, thank it, love it and be responsible for the energy you bring to it. We must also work to share the understanding with the land that while our bodies are temporary, our spirits exist out of time just like the land. Our love for the land does not need to stop when we no longer live there and our energetic respect for it can live on for eternity.

Throughout each day’s newscast, we are reminded about how much the Earth is being stressed. We often think that there is little we can do for such a grand problem, especially when the issue is often so far away from us. But this is exactly what we can do. Each in our own way, by respecting and loving our parcels of land, we help to soothe the Earth. By caring for the land and seeking to help it regain its beauty and grace, we each bring a light of hope and love to it. As you are able, I encourage you to spread this love beyond your land. Extend it to the land around you. To the land along your path to work. Extend that love to every parcel of land that your feet touch throughout the day. Like a mother’s kiss on the forehead of her wounded child, the healing touch does not always need to be at the site of pain. Wherever you can spread your love, it will be felt and accepted by the land.
